MANNA FOOD PANTRY HOLDS PICK-A-BOWL FUNDRAISER -- David Wayne
Pensacola, FL (Newsradio 92.3) -- There was a huge turnout for Manna Food Pantry's annual "Pick-a-Bowl, Fill-a-Bowl' fundraiser on Friday night. It was a sellout with 500 tickets and bowls sold.
"For every bowl sold, that provides around 10 days worth of food, or 30 meals," says Manna Food Pantry's Executive Director Dede Flounlacker.
During the event, attendees could pick a hand-crafted bowl made by a local potter, and fill it with soups from several top chefs and organizations here in our area.
Flounlacker said Manna expected to make around $60,000 from the fundraiser -- which she says will all stay here in the local community.
All of the bowls sold at the event were made by local potters.
Floulacker says while Friday's event will provide a lot of meals for those in need, Manna always needs help. If you'd like to Donate you can check out their website at manna-helps-dot-org.
