Man Found Guilty of Shooting Following Package Dispute in Brownsville

Escambia County, FL (Newsradio 92.3) -- A 30-year-old man has been found guilty of second-degree murder with a firearm in Escambia County. Shybri Steverson was convicted in the fatal shooting of Guy Dixon, Jr. The shooting happened back in November of 2023, in the Brownsville area following an argument over a missing package. Dixon was shot in the abdomen and died at a hospital, leaving behind three children. Eye-witness testimony was key to the conviction. Steverson faces a maximum sentence of life in prison. His sentencing hearing is scheduled for December 11th.
