Man Charged After Fatal Shooting in Beulah

Escambia County, FL (Newsradio 92.3) -- One man is dead and another in jail after a shooting in Beulah last night. The Escambia Sheriff's Office says they responded to a shots fired call on Rebel Acres Lane about 10 o'clock last night. An unidentified 40-year-old man was found dead in the yard with a gunshot wound. 33-year-old Dennis Herrera was arrested after a traffic stop a short time later. He's now charged with second-degree murder and is being held without bond at the Escambia County jail. The sheriff's office says the suspect and victim had previously been roommates and were involved in some type of disagreement. The investigation continues.
