Man Century's Interim Mayor Wanted to Hire as City Manager Takes Job in Arkansas

Century, FL (Newsradio 92.3) -- The man that interim Century Mayor Luis Gomez Jr. wanted to hire recently as a temporary City Manager has now taken a job in Arkansas. Gomez had asked the town council for permission to hire Robert Thompson shortly after he was sworn into office, he said he was "in over his head" and recommended hiring former DeFuniak Springs City Manager Robert Thompson for three months as he learned the ropes. The town council decided instead to advertise the position, and now Thompson has taken a job in Texarkana, Arkansas. The council will review their options for a temporary manager at their meeting next week.
