INCREASE IN THREATS IN SCHOOLS

Local law enforcement officials say they've seen an increase in kids making school shooting threats online. This comes after threats were reported in Baldwin, Santa Rosa, and Escambia Counties over the last week. Escambia sheriff Chip Simmons tells Newsradio that investigators work quickly to track down the source of anonymous online threats -- and he says they are often handled overnight. In one recent threat a child was threatened at McArthur Elementary school, and Simmons says the suspect was tracked down and arrested before school started the next day.
