PENSACOLA, FL — The Florida Institute for Human and Machine Cognition (IHMC) has been named Outstanding Research Organization at the 2025 Humanoid Robotics Industry Awards for its innovative work on the Nadia humanoid robotics platform. Nadia is named after famed gymnast Nadia Comaneci, and has been celebrated for its unique design features, including a large range of motion and a high power-to-weight ratio. The Nadia platform is transitioning to a new generation robot named Alex, which aims to enhance mobility in complex environments and support operations in high-risk scenarios, backed by funding from the U.S. Office of Naval Research.
