GULF BREEZE E-SCOOTER ORDINANCE APPROVED THIS WEEK

E-bikes and scooter riders in Gulf Breeze have some new rules to be aware of. They'll be prohibited in Shoreline Park -- except for on the multi-use path. City Manager Sam Abel says kids were using them in areas with heavy traffic from city workers. Abel says there were also instances of damage to turf from the devices. The ordinance will also require short-term rental owners who provide an e-bike or scooter to renters to provide a helmet as well. That brings the city code in line with state law.
