So far there are four high-profile candidates that are hoping to fill the now-vacant District 4 seat on the Escambia County Board of Commissioners. The seat opened up last week when Governor Ron DeSantis appointed Robert Bender as the new Supervisor of Elections, filling the position vacated by David Stafford a few months ago. Some of the interested names include local attorney, developer, and former politician Jim Reeves, Seville Quarter owner Buck Mitchell, current Pensacola councilman Jared Moore, and Downtown Improvement Board Director Walker Wilson. Whichever candidate is chosen will be appointed by Governor DeSantis -- however, there's no word on a timeline when that could happen.
