FORMER FORT WALTON BAND DIRECTOR DIES
Fort Walton Beach, FL (Newsradio 92.3) -- The longtime band director at Fort Walton Beach High School has died. Ernest Hebson passed away yesterday at 84-years-old. He started leading the Fort Walton Beach High School band in 1969 and over the years the program qualified for many state-level competitions. Many who spent time with Hebson have said his motto is "Excellent Without Exception." He retired in 1999, and in 2004 was inducted into the Florida Bandmasters Association Hall of Fame.
