Former Deputy Involved in Fatal Pedestrian Crash Faces Lawsuit

Pensacola, FL (Newsradio 92.3) -- A former Escambia County deputy is facing a lawsuit following a tragic crash that killed two pedestrians earlier this month. The crash happened in the early morning hours on July 5th, when 20-year-olds Nicole Moore and Jackson Cunningham were struck while using a crosswalk on Perdido Key Drive. An off-duty deputy was behind the wheel of the vehicle involved in the crash. Cunningham's father has now filed a lawsuit against the deputy, whose identity has not been disclosed. The sheriff's office has confirmed that the deputy is no longer with the agency.
