(Tallahassee, FL) -- The American Bar Association will no longer have what the Florida Supreme Court calls a near monopoly on accrediting law schools. The Florida Supreme Court ruled yesterday the state should no longer use the ABA as the only agency for accrediting law schools. The state has relied on the ABA for over 30 years, but the judges ruled it's not in Floridians' best interests for the ABA to be the sole gatekeeper for deciding which law school grads become licensed attorneys. Attorney General James Uthmeier supports the ruling, and he says the ABA is a far-left organization that can't be trusted to ensure technical excellence in American legal education.
