Florida Republicans Keep Cabinet Control After Election Day Results

Florida voters have elected three Republican candidates to statewide cabinet positions, maintaining GOP control of the state's executive offices heading into the next governor's term. According to North Escambia reporting, Agriculture Commissioner Wilton Simpson, Attorney General James Uthmeier, and Chief Financial Officer Blaise Ingoglia all won their races on Tuesday.

Uthmeier and Ingoglia were appointed to their current positions by outgoing Gov. Ron DeSantis in 2025, and their election victories mean the incoming governor will largely inherit the sitting cabinet rather than inherit a slate of new appointees.
