Five Dogs Saved from Fire in Walton County

Walton County, FL (Newsradio 92.3) -- Firefighters in Walton County rescued five dogs from a house fire on Sunday. Fire officials say crews were called to a house fire on 2nd Street in Mossy Head on Sunday morning. An explosion was reportedly heard coming from inside the home. The caller reported that they had gotten two dogs out of the home -- but there were several more trapped inside the burning home. Firefighters say there was heavy smoke and flames coming from the house by the time they arrived. DeFuniak Springs and Eglin Air Force Base firefighters were able to put the fire out in around an hour. The home was around 75% destroyed.
