Five Dead in Prime Air Cargo Plane Crash at Miami International Airport

A Prime Air cargo plane crashed at Miami International Airport on Sunday afternoon, killing five people and injuring five others. The aircraft, Flight 7598, overran a diagonal runway around 2 p.m. and became disabled at the northwest end of the airport, striking multiple vehicles before catching fire.

Miami-Dade County officials responded with more than 60 fire-rescue units to the scene. The airport implemented a full ground stop, closing all runways and taxiways while emergency crews worked to contain the situation and investigate the crash.

The incident caused significant disruptions to airport operations. Travelers heading to Miami International Airport are advised to contact their airlines for flight status updates before departing for the airport, as operations have been severely impacted by the closure and ongoing emergency response.
