FIRST FREE ENTRY DAY FOR GULF ISLANDS NATIONAL SEASHORE -- David Wayne

Escambia County, FL (Newsradio 92.3) -- The first free-entry day for the Gulf Islands National Seashore is coming up next week. The National Park Service is waiving entry fees for Martin Luther King Jr. Day on January 15th -- that's next Monday. It's the first of five days this year you can get in with no charge, the next being on April 20th for the first day of National Park Week. You can also get in for free on Juneteenth, Great American Outdoors Day in August, and National Public Lands Day in September. The National Park Service says the Gulf Islands National Seashore was visited by 5.9 million people last year -- that's more visitors than the Grand Canyon, Zion, Rocky Mountain, or Yellowstone national parks.
