FIREFIGHTERS RESCUE CATS FROM HOUSE FIRE

Firefighters rescued two cats during their response to a house fire early this morning in Escambia County. Escambia County Fire Rescue units arrived at the single-story house on the 200 block of McKinley Drive at 12:39 am and discovered a smoldering fire on the outside of the home that had spread into the attic space. Fire crews say while battling the blaze, they rescued two cats found inside the home, and both animals were unharmed. The fire was brought under control, and no injuries or fatalities were reported.
