FHP Investigating Fatal Hit and Run on East Nine Mile

Pensacola, FL (Newsradio 92.3) -- Florida Highway Patrol Troopers are searching for a driver involved in a fatal hit and run crash about 5 o'clock this morning. It happened at East Nine Mile Road at the intersection with University Plaza. An unidentified man was struck in the crosswalk while crossing Nine Mile. The pedestrian was taken to Baptist Hospital where he died from his injuries.

FHP says the suspect vehicle is a white SUV that was headed eastbound. Troopers say the SUV fled the scene and did not stop and attempt to render aid or report the crash. FHP is looking for a white SUV with damage to the front left portion of the vehicle and a broken left headlight. If you have any information call *FHP.
