If you were thinking that the new General Chappie James Memorial Bridge would be a good fishing spot, think again. "No Fishing From Bridge" signs are now posted on the bridge. WEAR News previously reported in late October that FDOT officials were considering a potential fishing ban on Three Mile Bridge following complaints of messes being left behind on the bridge: from fish heads and guts to trash. FDOT said it had to run a safety assessment before posting any signs. Ian Satter with FDOT said that they are trying to make the bridge safe for all of the users, especially pedestrians and bicyclists who use that multi-use path.
