Fairhope Domestic Situation Turns Deadly

Fairhope, AL (Newsradio 92.3) -- A domestic violence situation turned deadly in Fairhope on Saturday. Officials say the incident happened at a home on Dominion Drive late Saturday night. Responding Baldwin County deputies found two people with serious injuries who were brought to a hospital in Pensacola for treatment -- one of those victims has died and the other is still receiving treatment. 38-year-old Ryan Thomas Smith was identified as a suspect in the case. Officials say he fled the scene before law enforcement arrived but was captured after a pursuit on I-65 than which ended in Escambia County, Alabama. Smith is charged with murder and attempted murder.
