F-DOT Orders Pensacola to Remove BLM Mural

Pensacola, FL (Newsradio 92.3) -- F-DOT has ordered the city of Pensacola to remove the "Black Lives Matter" mural on North A Street. The agency sent a letter to city administrator Tim Kincella last week saying hte mural is a "violation of FDOT's traffic control device standards. The city has until Setpember 4th to remove the street mural -- and if they don't the state agency says they will remove it and bill the city for the cost. The mural has been on North A Street since 2020 when several local artists painted it during the wave of social protests that swept the nation. The mural was approved by the city at the time.
