A multi-million-dollar project to improve South Navy Boulevard in Pensacola crossed a major hurdle. Yesterday, federal lawmakers advanced Escambia County's request for $3 million for the main artery for people going in and out of NAS Pensacola. South Navy Boulevard has been plagued with concerns over run-down buildings, safety, and accessibility. Less than five months after unveiling a $10 million revitalization of the gateway to Pensacola NAS, the county is one step closer to securing a portion of that money. The next step is for our representatives Jimmy Patronis and senators Ashley Moody and Rick Scott to lobby for the funds on the house and senate floor.
