An Escambia County father is charged in a tragic case involving the death of a one-year-old child yesterday. The sheriff's office says they responded to a home on Shoal Creek Drive where a child had drowned in a bathtub. Investigators say 21-year-old Marc Basulto was home alone with his two children when he put the one-year-old in the bathtub with the water running, then took medication and fell asleep in another room. He woke up two hours later and found the one-year-old unresponsive in the bathtub. The boy was pronounced dead after being taken to a local hospital. Basulto is charged with aggravated manslaughter involving the death of a child and is being held without bond at the Escambia County jail.
