ESCAMBIA MAN ARRESTED AFTER HIGH SPEED CHASE, DRUG BUST

A 28-year-old man was arrested on Tuesday for multiple charges, including trafficking in methamphetamine, fleeing and eluding, possession of marijuana, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Deputies say Jackie Washington attempted to flee during a traffic stop at St. Joseph Street and North I Street, causing him to crash into a fence at B Street and Jordan Street. He then tried to flee on foot but was quickly apprehended, according to ECSO. Deputies say they discovered 892 grams of methamphetamine, a firearm, and 11 grams of marijuana inside Washington's car.
