Escambia County to Vote on Highway 4A Safety Project

Escambia County, FL (Newsradio 92.3) -- The Escambia County Commission will consider expanding a Highway 4A safety project this week. Back in August, commissioners approved an 1.8 million dollar improvement project from Byrneville to near Century. On Thursday, they'll vote on extending that project nearly a mile further to State Line Road. The expansion will cost an additional 554-thousand dollars, bringing the total project cost to about 2.4 million dollars. The improvements include widening and overlaying the road, upgrading guardrails, and relocating mailboxes and traffic signs.
