Escambia County Paramedic Named 2025 State Paramedic of the Year

Paramedic Nick Watley was named 'Paramedic of the Year' by the Florida Department of Health.

Escambia County, FL (Newsradio 92.3) -- Escambia County EMS Paramedic Supervisor Nick Watley has been named the 2025 Paramedic of the Year by the Florida Department of Health. Watley was recognized at an awards ceremony this week in Orlando. The award recognizes an individual who has demonstrated exceptional qualities in patient care, quality assurance, medical control, disaster preparedness and public education. Watley was also named the April 2025 Employee of the Month by the Escambia County Board of County Commissioners. He's been with Escambia County since 2020 as a paramedic and was promoted to supervisor in 2022. He previously worked as a firefighter and EMT in Alabama.
