Escambia County Library Director Resigns

Pensacola, FL (NewsRadio 92.3) -- Escambia County Library Director Christal Bell-Rivera has resigned, effective September ninth, with no explanation given. Bell-Rivera's hiring in March drew controversy after County Administrator Wes Moreno appointed her over two higher-ranked candidates recommended by the West Florida Library Board. At the time, she didn't yet meet minimum qualifications for the role, though she has since completed her master's degree in library science. She had served as interim director since Todd Humble's retirement last November.
