ESCAMBIA COMMISISONERS TO VOTE ON NEW TOLL BOOTH PROJECT

Escambia County will vote on moving ahead with plans for the Pensacola Beach Gateway Improvements Project today, with the design work almost complete for a new toll plaza at the base of the Bob Sikes Bridge. The Escambia Board of Commissioners will vote on hiring Mott MacDonald Florida for $309,865 to oversee construction and inspection at today's meeting. The goal is to have the new toll facility up and running by next tourist season.
