Escambia Children's Trust awards $3.6M in grants to 11 local health, family support projects

The Escambia Children's Trust has distributed $3,639,575 in Bright Beginnings grants to support early childhood development and family services across the county.
Among the funded projects are a new doula program to support mothers during pregnancy and postpartum, funding for a full-time developmental pediatrician to serve young children with developmental concerns, and expanded services reaching into the Century and North Escambia County areas that have historically had fewer resources.
In total, 11 different projects were selected to receive funding through the competitive grant process. The awards reflect the trust's focus on giving young children in Escambia County a strong start through evidence-based programs and increased access to specialized care.
