ECUA Board Member Dale Perkins Dies at 64

Walter "Dale" Perkins, who spent three decades shaping water policy across North Escambia, died Sunday at age 64. Perkins served on the Emerald Coast Utilities Authority Board representing District 4 for 32 years, beginning his tenure in 1994. He had announced he would not seek reelection, with his final term set to expire in November.

During his time on the ECUA Board, Perkins was involved in decisions affecting water service and infrastructure across the northern part of the county. His lengthy tenure reflected deep roots in the community and a sustained commitment to utility management during a period of significant growth in the region.

The ECUA will need to fill the District 4 seat following Perkins' passing and the expiration of his term this fall.
