Mobile County, AL (Newsradio Pensacola) -- Dozens of arrests were made in Mobile County, Alabama after the sheriff's office busted an alleged dog fighting ring. It all happened when Mobile County deputies served a search warrant at a home north of Mobile in Axis on Saturday -- detectives say they located a criminal dog fighting ring and arrested 23 suspects. They also seized drugs and several firearms. Animal Control says they removed 20 dogs from the property.
Officials say they believe as many as 29 people will face charges of dogfighting and marijuana trafficking -- as 15 pounds of pot were also found at the property.
