County Looking Into Developing Former Golf Course Into Park

Escambia County, FL (Newsradio 92.3) -- There could be a big new park coming in Cantonment. Escambia County is looking into leasing the old International Paper golf course with plans to develop it into a park with disc golf, walking trails, a pavilion, and a playground. Under a proposed 5-year lease agreement the county would pay $5,000 for the first year and that would increase 5% each year. The board of commissioners will consider the lease agreement at their meeting next Monday.
