COULD RED LIGHT CAMERAS BE IN YOUR FUTURE?

Pensacola is exploring the possibility of starting a Red Light Camera program. Mayor DC Reeves says they've reviewed 10 years of data, and the results were shocking, particularly at three intersections: 9th Avenue and Bayou Blvd, 9th and Airport, and Fairfield Drive and Davis Highway. Reeves also says that red light crashes lead officers to spend thousands of hours at intersections when they could be investigating crimes. Reeves says it's too soon to say if or when a red light camera program would be implemented, but if one were, he says the goal would be to save lives, not ruin someone's day by writing a ticket.
