011425 (PNJ) The City of Pensacola is ready to begin purchasing properties surrounding the Long Hollow stormwater pond. The move is part of the Hollis T. Williams stormwater park expansion. City Council will vote next week to authorize the purchase of a commercial property, at 1800 N. Palafox Street, for $950,000. The city is on the clock to get the project started as a $25 million grant, the city was awarded last year, to build the park carries a three-year deadline to get construction underway.
