Citizens Adds Policies, but more Depopulation is Expected Through April

Tallahassee, FL -- The state's "insurer of last resort" Citizens Property Insurance added nearly 3-thousand policies last week, bringing their total to 847,571. This follows a drop from 945,005 policies two weeks ago, as eight private insurers took over policies in a depopulation program. Citizens expects to end 2025 with under 771,000 policies, with more depopulation rounds planned through next month.
