Century Teen Charged in Fatal Showalter Park Shooting Moved to Adult Court

A 16-year-old Century resident has been transferred to adult court and is being held without bond in connection with a fatal shooting at Showalter Park, according to court documents.

Keyunta Iveon Ewing, who goes by the nickname "Baby K," appeared before a judge Friday for the transfer hearing. He faces a first-degree murder charge stemming from the incident at the park.

The teen's case was moved from juvenile court to the adult system following the hearing. Ewing remains in custody without the possibility of bail as the case proceeds through the criminal justice system.

Details about the circumstances of the shooting and Ewing's defense claims were not immediately available. The case is ongoing.
