Century OKs $8.48M Budget With Steady Property Tax Rate

The Century Town Council has tentatively approved an $8.48 million budget for the coming fiscal year, maintaining its property tax millage rate at 1.0405 mills, according to reporting from North Escambia.
The council's action Thursday night keeps the town's property tax burden flat, meaning homeowners in the Century area will not see an increase in their ad valorem tax bills tied to the millage rate itself.
The budget approval comes as Century, like many local governments across Santa Rosa County, navigates ongoing expenses for municipal services, infrastructure, and operations. The tentative vote allows the town to move forward with planning while final adoption is expected at a later council meeting.
