Cantonment Man Arrested for Street Racing at 93 MPH in Highway 29 Work Zone

A 19-year-old Cantonment resident faces felony charges after Florida Highway Patrol caught him racing at 93 mph through a work zone on Highway 29, according to an arrest report.
Seth Malaki Slavey was charged with violating Florida's street racing and stunt driving law, as well as operating a vehicle at a speed exceeding the limit by 50 mph or more — a serious traffic violation that carries significant penalties.
The FHP clocked Slavey's excessive speed in an active work zone, where construction crews and equipment are typically present, creating heightened danger to workers and other motorists. Work zone speeding violations carry enhanced penalties under Florida law designed to protect road workers.
