Blue Angels return to NAS Pensacola for 200th anniversary shows this weekend

The U.S. Navy Blue Angels are set to perform at Naval Air Station Pensacola this Friday and Saturday as part of the base's 200th anniversary celebration, according to WKRG-TV 5. The high-speed demonstration team will mark the return of the iconic six-plane formation after a 2025 government shutdown forced the cancellation of previously scheduled performances.
The flyovers are expected to draw crowds to the Pensacola area as residents and military families gather to witness the precision aerobatic team. The Blue Angels are among the most recognizable symbols of naval aviation and typically draw significant attendance whenever they perform in the region.
This marks a significant milestone for NAS Pensacola, which has been home to naval aviation training and operations for two centuries. The base remains one of the largest employers in the Escambia County area and continues to play a central role in Navy pilot training and fleet operations.
