(Tallahassee, FL) -- There's an effort underway to limit the governor's influence when it comes to picking college presidents. Escambia County Republican State Rep. Michelle Salzman is sponsoring the bill. It would prevent the governor or his staff from discussing a presidential opening with the school's leaders. The bill also lifts the requirement that the Board of Governors confirm a school's choice for president. A similar bill has been filed in the senate.
