BEAR SIGHTINGS STIR CONCERNS

Black bears in Gulf Breeze, Midway, and Navarre are causing some safety concerns for residents. One homeowner in Gulf Breeze says she's been dealing with bears for years. Another fears that the problem will only get worse due to overdevelopment in the area. Other residents in the area say they hope something is done about this issue soon before someone gets hurt. The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission says the bears are generally not aggressive, and seeing one in your neighborhood is not necessarily a cause for concern.
