Bear Hunt Permits Up for Grabs Next Week

Pensacola, FL (Newsradio 92.3) -- Bear harvest permit applications for Florida's first regulated bear hunting season in over a decade will be available on September 12th, and will remain open until September 22 at 11:59 p.m. A permit is necessary to hunt bears in designated zones from December 6th through the 28th. The closest Bear hunting zone to us will be the Eastern Panhandle zone east of State Road 79 in Bay County. That zone will have a limit of 68 permits. Applicants must be at least 18 years old by October 1 and can apply multiple times for a fee of $5 per application. Permits cost $100 for residents and $300 for nonresidents, with a limit on nonresident permits. Applications can be submitted online at GoOutdoorsFlorida.com or through local license agents.
