Alabama Woman Arrested for Grandmother's Mallet Murder

Mobile County, AL (Newsradio 92.3) -- An 18-year-old Alabama woman is facing charges for the brutal killing of her grandmother in Mobile County. Officials say Jailen Mia Lupton was arrested after her 70-year-old grandmother was beaten to death with a mallet on Saturday. Mobile County deputies say they found the woman dead in her front yard with head trauma. A neighbor reported that Lupton barged into her home and told the woman she had killed her grandmother then demanded her car keys. Lupton is being held on 2nd-degree murder charges in the Mobile County jail.
