A tragic DUI crash in Santa Rosa County has claimed the life of a 22-year-old man from Pace. The incident occurred last night when 33-year-old Leslie Highstreet allegedly drove his pickup truck recklessly, veering into oncoming traffic and colliding head-on with the victim’s sedan. After the crash, Highstreet fled the scene but was later found by deputies, who had to use a taser to detain him. He has been charged with DUI manslaughter and leaving the scene of a crash with death. Currently held without bond, Highstreet reportedly refused a blood test at the hospital, but authorities obtained a warrant for a sample. The investigation is ongoing.
