(Tallahassee, FL) -- Florida is filing lawsuits against several major medical organizations over gender-affirming care for minors. Attorney General James Uthmeier announced actions against the World Professional Association for Transgender Health, the Endocrine Society, and the American Academy of Pediatrics. He says the groups have misled families about the safety of these treatments. Uthmeier claims parents were told their children would be at risk of suicide if they didn't agree to what he called "life-altering" procedures. The organizations named in the lawsuit have not yet responded publicly.

(Miami, FL) -- New details are out on Alligator Alcatraz. ICE released some records last week on the immigration detention facility in the Everglades. Over 67-hundred men have been detained there, and the most recent records from two months ago show most have not been issued a final removal order. That appears to contradict a claim Governor Ron DeSantis made five months ago that everyone in the facility had been issued such an order. NBC 6 reports the records also show about 70 percent of the inmates are either convicted criminals or have criminal charges pending.

Santa Rosa County has opened a cold weather shelter tonight at Ferris Hill Baptist Church, on Chaffin Street in Milton. Anyone wanting to stay at the shelter must arrive between 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Only service animals with verification of rabies vaccination are allowed at the shelter.
