West Roberts Road to Close Sept. 30 for Drainage Work

Escambia County will temporarily close a section of West Roberts Road between Stallion Road and Pine Forest Road beginning Wednesday, Sept. 30, as part of ongoing roadway reconstruction and drainage improvements. The closure is expected to last through Saturday, Oct. 3, weather permitting.

Drivers should anticipate intermittent lane closures along the entire West Roberts Road corridor for the duration of the project. County officials are directing traffic to use detours via Kingsfield Road, Stallion Road, and Tate Road. Authorities ask that drivers exercise caution, follow posted signs, and heed instructions from road crews working in the area.

Property access will be maintained for residents and emergency vehicles throughout construction, though driveways and entrances may be briefly blocked as crews move equipment and materials. The overall West Roberts Road Roadway and Drainage Improvements Project is slated for completion by fall 2026, pending weather and construction scheduling.
