West Roberts Road Reconstruction Pushing Toward Labor Day Reopening

Crews are making progress on a $4.6 million reconstruction project along West Roberts Road, with the county targeting a post-Labor Day reopening for the stretch between Tate Road and Highway 29.
According to Escambia County, new lane closures began August 29 as part of the broader roadway and drainage improvements initiative. Work continued through the week, and officials said the road should reopen after the holiday weekend, assuming weather cooperates.
Drivers using West Roberts Road should continue to expect delays and follow posted detour signs in the meantime. The project addresses both pavement rehabilitation and stormwater drainage upgrades for the corridor.
