Escambia County, FL (Newsradio 92.3) -- Hundreds of volunteers spent their weekend honoring America's veterans at Barrancas National Cemetery. More than 500 people took part in Wreaths Across America, placing over 30-thousand wreaths on gravesites across the cemetery. The annual event is held nationwide each December to remember those who served and sacrificed. Organizers say the Pensacola effort has grown dramatically - it began 17 years ago with just seven wreaths. Similar ceremonies were also held in Fort Walton Beach, Milton, and Spanish Fort.
