The VA has announced a new pilot program that will allow veterans to get minor surgeries quicker, and they won't have to travel as far to get them. VA Under Secretary for Health Dr. Shereef Elnahal says the partnership will lead to around 60 people being hired to keep up with the demand. The program has been in place now for a couple of weeks and allows veterans to get certain outpatient operations at the Naval Hospital, rather than needing to go to Biloxi or having a private referral.
