Term Limits Could Be On-the-Way for County Commissioners and School Board Members

Term limits could potentially be on-the-way for commissioners and school board members. A proposed constitutional amendment has been filed in Tallahassee seeking to impose 12-year term limits on county commissioners and school board members. If lawmakers pass the proposal, it will need voter approval in the November 2026 election. The 2026 legislative session will start January 13, 2026.
