Tampa Man Charged After Breaking Into Elderly Woman's Apartment

A 24-year-old Tampa man is facing burglary and elder battery charges after allegedly breaking into a 93-year-old woman's apartment and standing at the foot of her bed, according to investigators.

Deputies say the woman initially believed the man, identified as Connor Norcross, was her grandson before realizing he was a stranger. She told him to leave the apartment. Before exiting, investigators say Norcross touched her arm. He then attempted to re-enter through the locked front door but was unable to get back inside.

Authorities identified Norcross through security footage from the apartment building. He was arrested days after the incident. The case highlights ongoing concerns about residential security and the vulnerability of elderly residents to home invasions.
